Vi presento le interviste rilasciate da JKR durante l'anno 2000, nelle quali si parla del Professor PitonVi ricordo che HP e il calice di fuoco è uscito nel luglio del 2000;

eToys.com Interview with J.K. Rowling(PG 175)
....................................................
How do you come up with all the unique names, places, and things that help make Harry Potter so intriguing? Many of the names are invented, for example "Quidditch" and "Muggle." I also collect unusual names, and I take them from all sorts of different places. "Hedwig" was a saint, "Dumbledore" is an old English word for "bumblebee," and "Snape" is the name of a place in England.

Author's favourites are chosen for Potter film By Hugh Davies(PG 202)
The director, Christopher Columbus, has been pressing for New Jersey-born Liam Aiken, 10, half-British on his mother's side, and star of I Dreamed of Africa. Columbus has liked Liam since he filmed him in Stepmom, playing Susan Sarandon's son. However, Rowling, who has always said she wanted an all-English Harry, warned her audience that it would be unwise to believe that the actor would be American.
The film is to be made in the autumn at Gloucester Cathedral and Leavesden Studios in Hertforshire for release in November next year. It is also expected to feature Richard Harris as Dumbledore, Potter's headmaster and protector against the hero's arch nemesis Lord Voldemort, a role not yet cast. Alan Rickman has been approached to play the dark and mysterious Professor Snape.
Rowling hinted that her next book - number five - would be published about the same time as the premiere of the film. There were sighs from the audience at having to wait so long. Despite her multi-millionaire status and world-wide fame, she spoke of still being unsure of her literary ability.

America Online Chat AOL Live presented an exclusive live chat with "Harry Potter" creator J.K. Rowling. (pg 219)......................................
Ms. Rowling, where do you come up with those names of the characters, like Quidditch?
Quidditch is a name I invented. I just wanted a word which began with the letter 'Q' (I don't know why, it was just a whim). Many of the names are taken from maps -- for instance, Snape, which is an English village.
.........................................................
Why did you make Quirrell the bad guy instead of Snape?
Because I know all about Snape, and he wasn't about to put on a turban.
......................................................
Ms. Rowling, which character besides Harry is your favorite, and why?
I think that would have to be Hagrid -- but I love Ron and Hermione too, and I also love writing characters like Gilderoy Lockhart, Snape, the Dursleys... it's such fun doing horrible things to them.

Now they're doing a movie, now. I ran into Mr. Rickman, who is going to be one of the stars of the movie.
Yes, he's playing Snape. Good choice.
................................
You are a name freak.
I am a bit of a name freak. A lot of the names that I didn't invent come from maps. Snape is a place name in Britain. Dumbledore means -- dumbledore is an old English dialect word for bumblebee, because he is a musical person. And I imagine him humming to himself all the time. Hagrid is also an old English word. Hedwig was a saint, a Medieval saint. I collect them. You know, if I hear a good name, I have got to write it down. And it will probably crop up somewhere.
.......................................
Why does Professor Dumbledore allow Professor Snape to be so nasty to the students (especially to Harry, Hermione, and Neville)?
Dumbledore believes there are all sorts of lessons in life; horrible teachers like Snape are one of them!
.............................................
The character of Professor Snape fascinates me. Will you reveal his back story further in the next Harry Potter book?
You will find out more about Snape in future books. Keep an eye on him!

Harry Potter: Need she say more? J.K. Rowling talks about her wildly popular books (pg 247)..................................
On merchandising the movie: ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" has been cast. Rowling said she was especially delighted that Maggie Smith is playing Professor McGonagall, Robbie Coltrane is playing Hagrid and Alan Rickman is playing Snape.)
"That's not my bag. They do ask my opinion, and I give them my opinion. My input is largely creative, it's really with the screenwriter and the director. I've seen sets, and they're amazing. It's a very spooky experience to walk into the Great Hall, really very spooky. And Hagrid's house . . . it's just . . . I know every writer of the original work when they see it made physical feels the same way

eToys.com Intervista a J.K. Rowling(PG 175)

The Daily Telegraph 14 agosto 2000
(PG 202)

Buona scelta.

Usi nomi strani.Mi piacciono i nomi strani.
