Altro resoconto di una ragazza di PAG 394:
C'è solo la sua foto davanti al manifesto perchè quella con Alan le è uscita sfocata e buia, se ho capito giusto!

Traduzione a cura di Giulia NerucciI don’t want to go into great detail about the show itself, so as to not spoil it for those who are planning to see it but haven’t yet. Of course Alan doesn’t show up until about 40 minutes into the play, but you won’t be bored in the beginning, because I was really engaged by Fiona and Lindsay and the rest of the cast is excellent. And as is typical, Alan’s entrance is pretty badass as it seamlessly coincides with an elaborate scene change. Stunning.
It’s hard for me to articulate, but I suppose since the stage is where he was originally trained, his mannerisms, the way he moves (he had a way of sort of gliding around stage), and of course the voice really shines in the three dimensions. I loved a lot of the little details he gave the character, such as periodically putting his hand into his pocket to play with his change. Although on the whole, I’m going to have to say Fiona Shaw really stuck out out of all three. But everyone was wonderful, and it’s a strong show.
Afterwards my bff and I bolted around the corner to the stage door, where about fifteen other people were waiting. I talked to some other fans, including a woman who sat in front of me during the show. A few minutes later a house manager came out, saw the crowd, went “OH” and returned inside. Moments later Alan came out. He was quite visibly tired, but courteous and patiently took photos and signed autographs with all who were outside, bless him. Now, at the moment I didn’t have any desire to get an autograph or a picture (I’m never been one for autographs, and reading this [http://bit.ly/Aat8g] made me realize that all celebrities secretly hate doing fan photos), just to shake his hand and tell him what I thought about the show. I had what I wanted to say cooking in my head for awhile, but of course when it was my turn I turned into a giddy wreck.
“Um. I just wanted to say ‘hi!’”
“Hello.”
“Uh… you did great, it was so great to see you on stage! I mean, you’re great in film, but uh, on stage it’s such a different experience.”
Oh my god, I thought. Could I sound like more of an idiot?
“Thank you,” he said. “It is for us, too.”
There was a little more to our brief conversation, but I was too starstruck to recall a lot of it. And on a whim I decided to ask for a picture. I didn’t bring my digital camera with me and the camera on my phone sucks, so I pulled out my Holga and handed to a gentleman to take our photo. I got my friend to come over to the other side of him, but unfortunately I don’t think the gentleman knew she was posing with us so she probably wasn’t in it. I forgot that I had the red filter on my flash on too. Afterward he continued signing autographs/ taking photos and went back inside. I talked to a few ladies for a bit, where we noticed a delivery man bringing Chinese to the stage door, presumably for the actors. We all wondered what Alan gets when he orders Chinese. ;-p
After we all departed I noticed that my Holga was on the “bulb” setting. So not only will the photo of Alan and I be red, but blurry as well. Oh well, can’t wait to get it developed anyway.
