When Alan Rickman read the script of “Snow Cake” he proposed to the producers Sigourney Weaver for the role of Linda. He having worked with her on “Galaxy Quest” (1999). Alan even called Weaver and told her she had to read the script, as there was a role he felt she could play perfectly. Sigourney Weaver followed his advice and the rest is part of film history.
Both Rickman and Weaver were runners-up at the Seattle International Film Festival for the respective prizes of Best Actor and Best Actress.
